Last year a charitable concert in Riga was held under the slogan “The history of 30 years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latvia”.
“In 2016, the event attracted prominent musicians of our country in the venue of the Anglican Church. The staff of the second outpatient department of the Latvian Infectious Diseases Center hospital and its Director, Dr. INGA JANUŠKEVIČA., were the first to receive the award The history of HIV/AIDS in Latvia shows that the first three decades of the epidemic in the country were full of pain, despair, disappointment and hopes. Someone had to make a start to spur a change. We believe that we managed to lay the foundations for a new story – more open and humane. We expect an even greater interest in the event this year”, says Andris Veikenieks, the head of AGIHAS and a representative of ECUO PLWH in Latvia.
