Request for proposals from GF on CRG: TA provision and Regional Platforms

The Global Fund has issued a new request for 2 proposals to select civil society service providers to support the realisation of 2 components of the Community Rights and Gender Strategic Initiative, during 2017-2019:

  1. Civil society and community organizations to provide peer-to-peer short-term technical assistance for civil society and community engagement in Global Fund and related processes; (updating the pool of CRG TA providers pre-selected  in 2014) – Organizations currently registered as TA Providers under an IQC agreement with the Global Fund and with contract expiring in 2017, will need to re-apply to this RPF.
  2. Civil society and community organizations to host a Regional Platform for Coordination and Communication; – Organizations currently hosting a regional platform will also need to apply to this RFP in order to be considered for continuation.

Submission deadline: 29 May 2017, 17:00 Geneva time

Language: English

Contracting period: July 2017-December 2019

Platform implementation budget: 250 thousand USD per year maximum


Objective of the Community, Rights and Gender Strategic Initiative:

Civil Society and communities are effectively engaged in, and contributing to, the development, implementation and oversight of Global Fund supported programs.

Civil society and community organizations can submit proposals in one or both of the categories below:

(a) Technical assistance (TA) provider to offer short-term peer-to-peer TA for civil society and community engagement in Global Fund and related processes (component 1 of the CRG-Special Initiative).

(b) Host of a regional platform for coordination and communication in one of the six regions where the Global Fund has grants (component 3 of the CRGStrategic

Initiative).

General requirements to all applicants

– Be registered as a civil society or community organizations;

– Demonstrate a substantial expertise and track record in addressing human rights barriers to accessing health services, gender equality, community responses and systems/or the meaningful engagement of key and vulnerable populations;

– Have an excellent knowledge of the Global Fund mandate, strategy and business model;

– Have an excellent understanding of the International Health Funding Architecture.
