On October 22-24, the final Forum of the regional #Partnership program started in Kyiv.
The event is attended by representatives of communities from EECA countries, NGO activists, experts, researchers, health system workers, doctors, scientists, politicians, government officials and representatives of international agencies, initiatives and organizations.
The forum showcases the experience of ten country consortia of non-governmental organizations advocating for the right to health of representatives of key populations affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Estonia. This is the first regional level partnership program aimed at ensuring effective response to the challenges of HIV /AIDS epidemic in EECA countries, supported by the Global Fund and coordinated by the East Europe and Central Asia Union of People Living with HIV (ECUO) in 2016-2018.

The forum is dedicated to reviewing the progress and the existing key barriers affecting the efficiency of a regional response to the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS epidemic, including: reduction in donor funding for HIV prevention and treatment programs, stigma and discrimination, and criminalization of HIV transmission in several countries in the region. Journalists from program countries will be invited to participate in the forum.
Participants will discuss the results of advocacy for expanding access and funding for HIV services in ten program countries, as well as analyze community service quality monitoring, community role in monitoring access and quality of ART, focus on the matters of stigma and discrimination in access to services, consider NGO funding in the field of HIV and ARV therapy procurement procedures.
The regional program, coordinated by the East Europe and Central Asia Union of People Living with HIV (ECUO), had been implemented in 15 countries of the EECA region with the financial support of the Global Fund in 2016-2018.
